Hi I'm 23 this year and working since 8 months as a software developer in a company. I am a game addict and play a lot of online games. i spend a lot of many for playing and going for sports outdoor events, 3/4 of my salary goes for playing and i am the stage of getting fired due to work delay. What do to? I cant stop playing games.

Hi Kalyan,

I don't think its that serious, as you have already got a thought about your obsession/addiction and how to reduce it.

Everyone needs hobbies for their happiness or for some stress reliever. so it's not required to completely stop playing games.

I would say it an addiction not an obsession since you can slowly make time for your job then you can slowly control yourself.

As your still young and just started working, you have time but as your career grows, it becomes denser and then you can set yourself right on the path.

Hey,

It is not at all a problem, everyone has their hobbies as their habit, in your case, it's a bit more, but for that, there is no need to leave your job. No worries, it can be easily controlled if you can follow some steps:

  • Try to make time for your game, like after coming from the office you can set up 2 hours for your game.
  • Do not mix your office timing with your gaming because it will give you frustration rather than relaxation.
  • If you won't be able to finish your office work on time, it won't be possible for you to regulate your gaming time.
  • Make your mindset to follow up these things.
