move out of storage domain to devops

Question

I working in IT Infra for 9 years (Storage Domain) and want to move out to more hot skills. Is DevOps a good option? Will I have to learn from scratch or something better can be suggested?

Hey Mohit, if you want to learn devops and do it without any hassle then you should go for some kind of certifications, which would give a good idea about the devops basics and you can also do a few demos and projects to get your hand-on skills better. Some of the certifications for devops are:

• AWS Certified DevOps Engineer Professional Exam

• AZ-400: Microsoft Azure DevOps Solutions Certification Exam

• Linux DevOps Certification

• Redhat DevOps Certification

Hi @Mohit, it's never too late to get into DevOps. Since you've worked in the IT infrastructure for quite some time now, it'll be easier for you to pick up DevOps concepts. You will have to work with tools that you probably haven't used before but I am sure you'll pick up easily(they are not very difficult).

DevOps would indeed be a great career switch to make especially since it has been booming in the IT industry.

Like @Travis said, "Its better late than never". I work in the devops domain and have personally found it interesting. You could definitely give it a try. You won't regret!
