How many years of experience is required to be senior DevOps engineer

Can be a Senior DevOps Engineer designation will be given to a person who is working in DevOps for 2.5 to 3 years or how many years for work experience is required to get Senior DevOps Engineer as a designation.

It depends on the performance. If somebody has practical knowledge and experience, it will become easier to get this kind of role. According to my knowledge, 2-3 years will be more than enough to get a senior-level role in the DevOps world. But it depends on the requirement of the company and other parameters.

If you do not have any prior experience, think about taking PG in DevOps before you begin the career path in this field.

• Detailed understanding of platform components like Infrastructure, SDLC toolchain, Data management, and security aspects.
• Development experience with Enterprise software products and SDLC lifecycle.
• Thorough understanding of the DevOps, DevSecOps, and pipeline implementations.
• Strong understanding of Infrastructure technologies On-Prem and Cloud hosted.
• Experience with IaC technologies like Ansible, Salt, Chef and Terraform.
• Understanding of and working experience SaC (Security as Code)
• Working experience with at least one programming language, Python, Go, Java, C, C++.
• Strong understanding of Data management technologies, experience with at least one of the SQL and NOSQL products.
