What is RDS Snapshot

• AWS Relational Database Service is an Amazon web service used to manage the database on the AWS platform

• RDS offers two ways to store data- manually and automatically
• While working with RDS you do come across an option known as Backup, it is the place where you can protect your data, you can specify backup storage duration from 0–35 days 

 

• For manual data storage you can make use of Snapshots. On creating snapshots even if you delete the root DB instance the data still exists till you manually delete the created Snapshot
