Accelerated Computing Instances in AWS

Can someone help me with Accelerated Computing Instances and how are they different then the EC2 Instances?

Accelerated Computing instance are types of instances which use hardware accelerators or co-processors which perform some functions e.g. floating-point number calculation, graphics processing and more efficiently than is possible in software running on different CPUs. In EC2 you are provided three types of Accelerated Computing instances – GPU compute instances that is for general-purpose computing, GPU graphics instances that is for graphics intensive applications, and FPGA programmable hardware compute instances which is used for advanced scientific workloads.
