How do I remove the terminated instances from the auto-scaling group in AWS?

Once you terminate the instance, detach it from the auto-scaling group. Use the following command:

aws autoscaling detach-instances --instance-ids YOUR-INSTANCE-ID --no-should-decrement-desired-capacity --auto-scaling-group-name YOUR-ASG-NAME
