Security Software Developer Experience

Hello. I am software developer and I have been working for 6 months. I am interested in Security domain so I am preparing myself to become a Security Software Developer. How much experience do I need to become a Security Software Developer? Can I get a job as a Security Software Developer now if I get the certifications?

Security Software Developer is not an entry or mid-level job role. As much as I have seen people who have become a Security Software Developer, they have worked for at least 3-4 years as a Software Developer and 1-2 years as a tester. They have mostly worked on Security based project. Sorry to disappoint you, but you can not become a Security Software Developer just by getting certifications because experience plays an important role.

To be a security software developer 6 months of experience is not at all enough to be a security developer. You are still a fresher and with this experience, I don't think any company is going to recruit for this profile. I would suggest do not rush into your life, get good research on what and all you need to do to reach to that level and start working on that. I hope after working for 3 to 4 years you will be in that stage where you can choose your own career. So keep patience and learn first, then think about which path do you want to go.
