Is there any impact when i create AMI without SYSPREP shutdown in Windows EC2 instance

What will happen when i used without SYSPREP shutdown in Windows EC2 instance for taking AMI? Is there any impact will happen? What exactly sysprep do and sysprep dont?

I think it will impact your instance or maybe crash. You have lots of running processes in your system. So if you try to do without SYSPREP shutdown in Windows EC2 instance. It may affect your instance.
