AWS How are AMI s created for a large number of servers

Question

In aws, to set up autoscaling and load balancer, we 1st take AMI's of the required servers, its fine if the number of servers are few (like 3 or 4), But what if there are large numbers of servers like 30 to 40. How AMI's are created, how it happens in real time??

you can make use of terraform to create AMI from your ec2 instance -
