Hadoop ERROR namenode NameNode Could not initialize shared edits dir java io IOException Cannot start an HA namenode with name dirs that need recovery

I am converting a non-HA NameNode to be HA, where we should run the command :

"hdfs namenode -initializeSharedEdits", 

which will initialize the JournalNodes with the edits data from the local NameNode edits directories. Can anyone help me out with this?

You can do one thing:

Create namenode dir with the help of this command:

[bin]#mkdir -P /app/hadoop2/namenode
