Copy object in Python

How do I copy an object in python? Can I just use copy.copy()

In general, copy.copy() or copy.deepcopy() works perfectly fine for the general case. Not all objects can be copied.Some objects can be copied more easily. Dictionaries have a copy() method:

ob1 = ob.copy()

Sequences can be copied by slicing:

new_l = l[:]
