Removing blank spaces on the right in Pandas Dataframe index

I want to remove the blank spaces only from the right side of my string in the index of the dataframe. Please suggest to me how to do this.

First, get the index of the dataframe and store it in an object. Then you l=rstrip() to remove the blank spaces on the right. 

idx = pd.Index()
idx.str.rstrip()
