How to create a file in Linux from terminal window

Hi,

I am new to the field of Hadoop and started using Linux and all the commands, but I got one issue to create an .xml file for hive to put up the configuration. But I am unable to to do how can I create a file. Can anyone help with this?

Hey,

Nothing to worry about creating any file in Linux through terminal. Just make sure you know on which directory you want create your new file with the extension you want, then use a command:

touch myfile.txt 

touch myfile.xml
