Command to establish connection between MySql with linux

 After login into MySql, I am unable to establish the connection with MySql and Centos. Can anyone help me, using which command it will be possible to setup?

This is the command you can use to check the connection:

mysql -u root -p

In the Enter Password section: Enter the same password you have given while installing MySql. This should be the output page. I hope it will work.
