Log into MariaDB Server as root

How do I log into MariaDB Server as root?

To log into the server as root, execute the following command:

mysql -u root -p

You should see similar output:

Welcome to the MariaDB monitor.  Commands end with ; or \g.
Your MariaDB connection id is 49
Server version: 10.1.29-MariaDB-6 Ubuntu 18.04
