Different ways of using multichain runtime parameters

What are the different ways of using runtime parameters for multichain? I know that we can use the parameter as an option with the mulltichaind command. Is there any other way?

There are two more ways of using runtime parameters:

> As extra lines in the local node’s blockchain configuration file 

Ex: hideknownopdrops=1 in ~/.multichain/chain1/multichain.conf

> As extra lines in the global blockchain configuration file:

hideknownopdrops=1 in ~/.multichain/multichain.conf
