Not able to install Multichain

I am trying to install Multichain on Ubuntu OS. In the instructions, there's a step

mv multichaind multichain-cli multichain-util /usr/local/bin

But when I run this, I get the following error:

sudo:/usr/bin/sudo must be owned by UID 0 and have the setid bit set

Hi. It seems you have changed some permission files of your Ubuntu VM.

In Ubuntu recovery mode, try to execute the following commands:

mount -o remount,rw /
mount --all
chown root:root /usr/bin/sudo
chmod 4755 /usr/bin/sudo
restart

But I would recommend you to remove this Ubuntu VM and install/import a new VM. That would be easier.
