Error saying Failed to resolve host name updates jenkins io Perhaps you need to configure HTTP proxy

I am getting the below error when i try to install the plugins in Jenkins . Here is the error message

Failed to resolve host name updates.jenkins.io. Perhaps you need to configure HTTP proxy?

I had the same error. I was connected to my VPN, hence it wasn't working for me. I disconnected and now I am no longer facing any issues.
