What are skills required to become a Big Data Architect? I am interested in this Job role. I am also planning to attend an interview. I checked for this online but different sites tell different things and it is getting confusing. Can somebody tell me in a simple way the skills required? Thanks

Hey Ram. Like you said, let's keep it simple. These are some skills I think are important if you want to start a career as Big Data Architect:

• Decision-making power for data analysis
• Basics of machine learning
• pattern recognition
• HTML5, Python, CSS etc.
• Hadoop concepts: Hive, PIG, Spark, MapReduce etc.

Get a further understanding from the Big Data Architect Certification.

I am not sure if my answer will still be helpful to you because your question is a little old. But I am writing it anyways so that it could be helpful to anyone else looking for help. Basically, to become a Big Data Architect, you need to have strong programming skills in Java and/or Python and you have to be strong in concepts and implement of Hadoop Eco-system. This is the basic skills. Specific skills would depend on the company because every company has its own requirement.
