How do I get the current time only in JavaScript

0 votes
In JavaScript, how can I retrieve the current time and utilise it in a timepicker?

When I tried var x = Date(), I got:

May 15th, 2012, 05:45:40 GMT-0500

However, I simply require the current time, such as 05:45.

How do I make this a variable?
