How can I confirm a database is Oracle what version it is using SQL

0 votes
I'm creating an application installer. The user chooses a datasource they've set up and specifies the kind of database it belongs to. By sending a SQL statement to the datasource, I want to make sure that the database type is Oracle and, if it's possible, what version of Oracle they are using.
