Selenium 4 0 new update

Question

Selenium 4. 0 is releasing and by default there is a feature of Webdriver is communicating with browsers so my doubt is is that necessity to create a object and calling driver(chrome,Firefox,edg e, explorer) instances???? and what is the role of gecko driver in mozilla for next upcoming release?

Hey Vrithra,

I'm not too sure about the functionality...I don't think the documentation has also been released as yet. There is certainly a big hype surrounding this update because apparently Selenium IDE is getting back from resurrection :)
And with that a plenty more changes are expected.

Now getting back to your question, as per what your saying, I don't think there will be a need to use browser drivers (even Gecko). If Selenium can directly talk and does not need an object instance, then it will be one step less for us (which is happy news).
