Error Docker no matching manifest for windows amd64 in the manifest list entries

Question

I use Docker on Windows, and when I tried to pull a ubuntu image with this command

$ docker pull ubuntu

I get the following error message:

Using default tag: latest
latest: Pulling from library/ubuntu no matching manifest for windows/amd64 in the manifest list entries

Is there an easy fix to this problem?

I had this same issue on Windows 10. Just run the docker daemon in experimental mode and it should work. Follow the below steps:

1. Right click Docker user interface
2. Go to Settings
3. Daemon
4. Advanced
5. Set the "experimental": true
6. Restart Docker
